Programa Tradicional 1/2 day
Itinerary: from 9:00am to 2:00pm
Frequency: Every Day
We pick up our passengers from their respective hotels at approximately 8:30am, after which we make our way to:
Tipon: This is a massive and stunning agricultural ruin that contains 12 terraces that are actually cultivated, and whose walls were constructed from finely cut stones (almost perfectly cut). Even more impressive, however, is the irrigation system that is still serving the agriculture in the area and takes its water directly from a mountain spring.
Pikillaqta: This site exemplifies characteristics of a large urban center from the time of the Wari, a pre-Incan society. This site contains more than one thousand different constructions of plazas, colcas (a way to store food), homes, temples, large roads, and some buildings that were at one point 4 stories tall.
Andahuaylillas: A typical Andean village from the colonial time with very unique architecture and design. What stands out most in Andahuaylillas is its Catholic temple from the colonial period. This temple has beautiful decorations and a painted mural from the time XVII and XVIII; it was known as the Sistine Chapel of Cusco.
