Day 1: Lima/Cusco
We will pick you up in the Cusco airport, welcome you to our
beautiful city, and take you to your hotel.
1:15pm to 6:30pm : Cusco city tour (city and neighboring ruins)
The tour of the city includes the following: The Plaza de Armas
(main plaza), The Cathedral of Cusco, Koricancha (religious complex
dedicated to the different deities of Tahuantinsuyo). We then visit
the arqueological sites near the city: Kenko, an ancient ceremonial
center dedicated to the earth; PucaPucara, an ancient administrative
and military site; Tambomochay, an important and sacred place
dedicated to water; Sacsayhuaman, a fort overlooking Cusco and a
central part of its defense. After Sacsayhuaman, we take you back to
the city and your hotel.
Day 2: Cusco/Sacred Valley
We leave early in the morning for an excursion to the Sacred
Valley of the Incas. Initially, we visit Pisaq, a picturesque little
town in which you have the opportunity to visit the largest artisan
market in the region. This is followed by lunch in Urubamba (not
included) after which we visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo, which
were a massive agricultural, administrative, social, religious, and
military complex during the time of the Tawantinsuyo. On the way
back to Cusco, we visit a beautiful indigenous village called
Chinchero. Then we take you back to the hotel in Cusco.
Day 3: Cusco/Chachabamba/Winayhuayna/Aguas
Calientes
We pick you up from the hotel in Cusco and take you to the train
station of Poroy&Ollantaytambo. We then take the train, although
only until kilometer 104, which is the beginning point of the trek.
After only 15 minutes of hiking, we come to the archeological site
of Chachabamba, after which we continue hiking and climbing until
the next archeological site of Winayhuayna, which is one of the most
well preserved and beautiful ruins. Here we eat a box lunch. After
lunch, we resume the trek until we get to Intipunku, or the Sun Gate
from where we get a bird`s eye view of the majestic Machu Picchu! We
then get on the bus down to AguasCalientes and spend the night in a
hotel.
Day 4: AguasCalientes/Machu Picchu/Cusco
Very early in the morning we get on the bus that takes us back
up to Machu Picchu. There will be a guided tour of the city that
lasts roughly two and a half hours and provides all the information
you need to know about the city. Afterwards, you can take your time
and explore Machu Picchu at your own pace. At a specified time, we
will board the buses back down to AguasCalientes and then board the
train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo transportation is
provided back to Cusco and the hotel.
Dia 5: Cusco/Maras/Moray
We will pick you up at your hotel and head to our first
destination, Maras. Here you will see the salt mines; salt is one of
the most important minerals of the region. We next visit Moray. This
is a formidable arqueologicalcomplex made up of a system of
platforms and enormous terraces taking the form of a gigantic
amphitheater. We then return to Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco/Airport
We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport
(or bus station) for your next connection.
Important Note: For this tour, it is important to make reservations
well in advance (5 or 6 months) because there is a limited amount of
space for the Inca Trail.

Bus ticket to and from Machu Picchu (up and down the mountain)
